Spiritual Balance

So - you have had a spiritual awakening. How you perceive the world has been turned completely on its head. What next? How can someone have an insanely opening experience like that (instantaneously or over a period of time) and not be forever changed? How does someone go get the groceries, go to work, listen to co-workers gossip, meet friends for drinks, fulfil deadlines, go to the doctor, attend events... the list goes on, but the question remains -
How do I attend to everyday life when I am the universe and one with everything, and everyday life is just so MUNDANE?
With this in mind, the following is a list of things that may help you balance yourself when presented with this dilemma.
Do not immediately throw out aspects of your life that you don't feel are in line with who you are anymore. Be patient and assess what can change and what must wait. There is usually a calibration period after an "Aha!" moment, and your feelings are very likely to change as more information presents itself.
Remember that this was always the plan. Your higher self and the universe have always had this in mind and there is divine purpose for you being exactly where you are.
Read the synchronicities for reassurance from the universe that you are One, and not alone.
Journal your experiences daily. You will be surprised at the number of lessons to be found in seemingly mundane daily occurrences. Include gratitude entries in your journal.
Meditate on the love of the universe again. This will help you not to judge those who you can now see are more obviously acting through a lens of ego and karmic cycles.
Exercise regularly and drink plenty of water. The vessel is your way of interacting with others and needs upkeep. You are experiencing a period of change at a fundamental, metaphysical level and this can take its toll on the physical body. Keeping your hormones balanced is essential for levelling out any mood disturbances you may feel.
Be wary of false gurus and those who would lead you astray. You do not need to spend ANY money or subscribe to a particular protocol to become enlightened or affirm your place in the divine plan. The universe provides for those who ask.
Practice patience. As expansive as a spiritual awakening is, it is still not the whole story. As you learn one lesson, the next shall present itself to you. Many of us were put here to awaken and help raise the vibration of the Earth, but only very few are meant to see the divine plan in all its glory. Most of us are here to experience one chapter at a time (namely, the present).
Be gentle and thoughtful with your words when speaking with others. While your world may have fallen on its head, others are on their own path and may not be in the right space to see the truth of your new perceptions. This may lead to misunderstandings and confrontation that would best be avoided when in a vulnerable state.
If you have the ability to do so, surround yourself with people who understand what you are going through and the unconditional love that you require during this period of time.
In summary, you are the universe experiencing itself. There are particular lessons that are meant to be learned through the chapters in your story, and awakening is only the very beginning of being conscious of this. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to go about spirituality or awakening, so take what I say with a pinch of salt. The above is meant to aid in enjoyment of the process and describe what I have found helpful. It is definitely not my intention to give you an extra checklist to complete on your so-called pathway to enlightenment!
I wish you all the love, peace, and wonder of One-ness as you traverse this chapter of your story.
